day out

Yesterday was fuh!! awesome!! I’ve never spent so much tyme in Tanah Abang that long. Me and Ecah went out early in the morning , around 10 o’clock and find a taxi to Block M. Huh! I was so lucky to actually ride on a taxi, driven by a Pak who was actually a contsructive worker in Putrajaya on 1989, the year I was born. He is a sweet looking man in his early 40’s. He was ever so friendly, and since Ecah is friendly too, the conversation became very exciting and full of funny moments.

At first, all that we talked about was the universitas in jakarta and the famous fac in every field (medic, UI.. engineering, ITB.. social science, politics). We even talked about Dr. Anwar Ibrahim who studied here in Jakarta during his 1st degree..and how he has so many famous profesional friends here in Indonesia. I didn’t know that.. how funny is that. Then, we got to the story when he came to Malaysia in the year of 1986 and work at Putrajaya till 1989. How sweet is that, I mean he still remembers the young days of his, very clearly eventhough it’s been 20 years ago Huhu!!
He said that when he worked as a constructor and helped in the developement process of our government building, he didn’t know what it was for. He just build it and thought that it was for offices, and ordinary housing estate. He didn’t know for a fact that it is a superficial Malaysia government building like the White House in Washington. He was proud of what it has become and how he had once helped in its construction. He really look up to come to Malaysia once again, but as a tourist, not as a worker anymore. I really hope that he will make it. That’s bcuz while he was here, he wasn’t able to visit any other places in Malaysia. He went through his routine in the construction site for 3 years. God! imagine how boring his life was..eating, sleeping and working. He said that the site of Putrajaya building at the moment was actually a thick forest which was full of 2 metres high lalang and it was habitated by pigs.
Some more, when I asked about the Putrajaya Lake, he said that it is a man made.. not an original lake…as they dig it up some more and make it bigger. He mentioned just about everything that could be found there in Putrajaya but except for Alamanda Putrajaya of course..haha. Ecah joked bout how he should have carved his name on the site of Putrajaya Administration Office..huhu. That was seriously something that you could not get anywhere or anyone to story about..and i am glad that we had him as our taxi driver. I thanked him and got out of the taxi longingly wanting to listen for more. HUHU!!
