bell's palsy

When I was a little kid, I had this disease of nerve innervation where half of my face was totally numb. It can't move nor can I make any face expression. Funny thing was that only half of my face can be moved. I can't remember which side of it.

It was kinda like funny cuz I remember that I can smile widely almost to my ears on one side and cannot smile at all on the onther side. It became an attention to my classmates that they made me laugh hard to see me smiling half faced.

It's the oddest thing that has happened to me. Only now, I get to know what really happened to me years ago. I had what you call Bell's palsy which is caused by the nerve (facial nerve, VI) compression, edeme, inflamation or lession in one of my brain side. I reckon it was because of my ear infection.

One of the causes that I read is chronic ear infection (facial nerve is located in the middle ear)...so that has to be it. Even, I can't remember what the diagnosis was.

It is just great that I get to learn back every disease that I have gone through including my late grandma. Her death was because of diabetic complication. It is just too sad for me to be able to diagnosed it only now when they're gone.
